Latest News Musical Fidelity M8xTT Turntable – A Leap in Audio Innovation

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the Musical Fidelity M8xTT turntable at Len Wallis Audio, a successor inspired by the M1 but with significant enhancements.

Some readers may remember the Musical Fidelity M1 turntable from 2004 – a true masterpiece and a standout performer, though only a few units made their way to Australia.

This turntable is a marvel of engineering, crafted primarily from acrylic and aluminum, similar to the M1. Yet, that’s where the similarities end. Unlike other recent Musical Fidelity releases that nod to their predecessors like the legendary A1 amplifier or the LS3/5a speakers, the Musical Fidelity M8xTT Turntable represents a sonic leap forward. It is designed to complement the NuVista series of amplifiers from Musical Fidelity, which are themselves icons of audio excellence.

The Musical Fidelity M8xTT Turntable features several intriguing design elements. A standout is its twin acrylic bases that house the motor on the lower base and the platter and arm on the upper, effectively isolating the motor from the playback components. The tonearm, a newly designed model specifically for this turntable, includes a visually striking hand-polished plexiglass/acrylic bearing housing. It offers full adjustment capabilities for Vertical Tracking Angle (VTA) and azimuth. The substantial 10kg platter comprises two layers of dampened aluminum with additional inserts and is topped with an elegant leather mat.

Embodying revolutionary design and technological advancements, the M8xTT turntable is the contemporary incarnation of its iconic forerunner.

The turntable’s isolation is further enhanced by its four feet, each made of two decoupled parts, minimizing resonance transfer from the supporting cabinet. Connectivity is modern and versatile, with both RCA and XLR outputs, supporting a fully balanced signal path that complements Musical Fidelity’s recent phono stages equipped with balanced inputs.

For those who prefer a customized setup, there will be a version of the Musical Fidelity M8xTT Turntable is available without a tonearm, allowing enthusiasts the freedom to choose their preferred model.

Despite entering a competitive market, the M8xTT stands out with its innovative design and superior performance. It promises to be an exceptional addition to high-end audio systems, much like its celebrated predecessor.
