Latest News Ensuring Foxtel’s new iQ4 is compatible with your system

Isn’t it wonderful when a potential problem coincides with an opportunity!

Foxtel are now shipping their new iQ4 4K boxes. This is a great product, and is ideal for sports-mad Australia. While they will be offering movies, documentaries, concerts etc. in 4K, the real appeal of this new box is going to be sport. This starts with Bathurst 1000 this weekend, which will be broadcast live in 4K – and ad free. Foxtel have also announced that they will commence live cricket broadcasts, including the test matches, in 4K from November.

Unfortunately it has become evident that Foxtel have not been asking the right questions before sending these boxes out to many of their customers. The Foxtel iQ4 is only compatible with equipment (TV’s and A/V receivers) which have HDMI 2.0 ports (HDCP2.2). This means that unless your system is only 3 – 4 years old it is not compatible. We are already fielding numerous calls from clients who have upgraded to iQ4, only to find that it does not work with their older system.

Yamaha’s Trade-up-and-Save promotion is beautifully timed. From now until the end of January you will receive a guaranteed trade-in on any working receiver when upgrading to one of the new ‘18’ series of Yamaha Aventage A/V receivers. Yamaha is the market leader in the Home Theatre receiver market – with good reason. They are well priced, reliable, fully featured and most importantly, high performance. The Aventage range is Yamaha’s premium series.

This is a great opportunity to upgrade your receiver to take advantage of later technologies, including HDMI 2.0 ports, and others such as voice control and Atmos surround. Trade-ins range from $150 through to $500 depending on the model you are looking for.

And, as always, for a price we can come out and install the receiver for you.
