Design and Build: The Sonos Five is a robust speaker with a stylish, monochromatic finish, available in black or white. Its design features a sealed architecture to eliminate reverb and echo, enhancing sound clarity. The speaker is sizable, weighing in at around 6kg, which contributes to its deep bass capabilities.
Audio Quality: This model is equipped with three high-excursion woofers for rich bass and three tweeters, including two precisely angled side tweeters, for a wide stereo soundstage. It’s praised for its room-filling sound, offering deep bass and impressive stereo sound, making it suitable for various music genres. The speaker supports Trueplay™ tuning technology, which optimises sound for the specific acoustics of the room, though this feature requires an iOS device.
Connectivity: The Sonos Five connects via WiFi (802.11b/g, 2.4 GHz compatible) and supports Apple AirPlay 2 for streaming from iOS devices.
