Automat A2 – Fully automatic sub-chassis turntable – The Future of Automatic Turntables

A2 Technology

Welcome to the next level of vinyl playback with the “Automat A2 – Fully automatic sub-chassis turntable.” Building on the success of Pro-Ject’s fully mechanical automatic turntables, the A2 offers enhanced features like selectable drop-off points for different record sizes and speeds, including the rare 78 RPM for shellac records. The A2’s automatics operate purely mechanically, steering clear of your audio signal path and preserving the pristine sound quality from start to finish.

The Necessity of a Sub-Chassis

The Automat A2’s intelligent design employs a sub-chassis to isolate the tonearm and drive from any resonance within the chassis space, crucial for automatic turntables to achieve superior audio fidelity.

Pro-Ject Design Philosophy

Pro-Ject’s A2 is a nod to the minimalist aesthetics of iconic German audio design, blending a clean, modern approach with nostalgic cues.

Enhanced Automatic Mechanism

The A2’s automatic mechanism has been significantly upgraded with an aluminum diecast top for better resonance isolation and a reduction of plastic components, refining a design that has stood the test of time.

Innovative Tonearm Features
  • Massless tracking force adjustment system for swift, precise settings
  • A newly designed 8.3″ ultra-light-mass aluminum tonearm
  • Cardanic bearing construction for frictionless, precise vinyl tracking
Why Ultra-Light-Mass Tonearm?

The ultra-light-mass tonearm is essential for the A2’s delicate automatic mechanisms, mirroring the precision found in fine mechanical watches, thus enabling the turntable to perform with exceptional agility.

Ortofon 2M Red & Advanced Components
  • The beloved Ortofon 2M Red cartridge ensures a dynamic and warm sound profile.
  • A carbon fibre reinforced anti-magnetic headshell pairs perfectly with the light tonearm.
  • The heavy MDF chassis and floating sub-chassis design are crafted to suppress resonances.
  • A damped precision-balanced aluminum platter ensures stable rotation with minimal deviation.
Superior Connectivity and Build
  • Connect it E semi-balanced RCA cable for flawless amp connection
  • Speed selection for 33, 45, 78 RPM records at a single button touch
  • Crafted with pride and precision in Germany

The Automat A2 – Fully automatic sub-chassis turntable is not just a turntable; it’s the epitome of Pro-Ject’s dedication to blending automated convenience with the warmth of vinyl. Visit Len Wallis Audio to discover the Automat A2, where innovation meets the timeless beauty of music.
