Introducing the PS Audio StellarGold DAC, a revolutionary digital-to-analog converter that redefines performance in its price range. With its advanced design, this DAC takes digital audio conversion to new heights, offering extraordinary sound quality that rivals products far beyond its class. The StellarGold DAC uses multiple parallel DACs for each channel, creating a level of audio precision that is unmatched by single-DAC systems. Each channel features four high-resolution digital-to-analog converters, with the combined output fed into a brand-new discrete Class A analog output stage. This groundbreaking design results in a listening experience that is simply breathtaking.
The StellarGold DAC achieves superior performance through its parallel DAC architecture. By utilizing multiple DACs, it reduces noise and crosstalk between channels while significantly improving linearity, dynamic range, and resolution. The benefits of this design are clear: the individual non-linearities of each DAC are effectively averaged out, leading to higher precision and accuracy. The result is an ultra-linear, noise-free signal that enhances every detail of your audio, from the subtlest of whispers to the most dramatic crescendos. This design innovation allows the StellarGold DAC to outperform any DAC in its category, delivering results that are truly stunning.
One of the key features of the StellarGold DAC is its Octo DAC architecture, which brings “Diamond performance” to your audio system. By combining the outputs of four DACs per channel, the StellarGold DAC achieves extraordinarily low noise and distortion levels, offering a signal-to-noise ratio that exceeds 127dB below its maximum output of 4 volts (balanced). This reduction in noise and the averaging of individual DAC non-linearities increases the DAC’s effective dynamic range, providing a more lifelike and immersive audio experience.
The design of the StellarGold DAC reflects its high-performance goals. With a fully discrete, Class A gain stage, this DAC is engineered for speed and precision, allowing your audio system to reach new levels of clarity and depth. PS Audio’s use of only the highest-quality components ensures that the StellarGold DAC delivers consistent, high-fidelity performance, regardless of the source material. Whether you’re listening to high-resolution digital files or streaming from your favorite platform, the StellarGold DAC reveals the finest details in your music, making it a must-have for audiophiles who demand the best.
In terms of application, the StellarGold DAC can serve as the heart of your high-resolution two-channel audio system. Its balanced and single-ended outputs allow seamless integration with other high-end components, such as PS Audio’s StellarGold preamplifier. Alternatively, its built-in lossless volume control enables it to function as a preamplifier itself, making it a versatile option for a wide range of setups. Whatever your system configuration, the StellarGold DAC will elevate your listening experience to a new level of excellence.
The StellarGold DAC was designed by PS Audio’s Darren Myers, whose goal was to push the limits of the latest ESS DAC platforms. The result is a product that blends cutting-edge digital technology with a fully discrete, direct-coupled balanced hybrid output stage. Powered by multiple-stage linear regulators, the StellarGold DAC delivers astonishing speed and accuracy, all while maintaining an affordable price point. This balance of performance and value makes the StellarGold DAC one of the best investments for your high-performance audio system.
For audiophiles, the DAC is often considered the cornerstone of their system. Whether you’re streaming music via a network connection, using a PerfectWave SACD transport, or playing files directly from your computer, the quality of your DAC determines the quality of your sound. With the StellarGold DAC, you can rest assured that every note, every detail, and every nuance will be rendered with stunning clarity and precision.
If you’re looking for a DAC that will make a tangible difference in your listening experience, the PS Audio StellarGold DAC is the answer. Its advanced design, featuring multiple parallel DACs and a discrete Class A output stage, delivers sound quality that surpasses anything in its price range. We invite you to visit the Len Wallis Audio showroom to experience the StellarGold DAC firsthand.
