Our showroom is regarded by many, local and international, as one of the finest facilities of it's kind in the world. It features 10 sound-lounge/theatres, a virtual smart-house, on-site service and on-site parking.

The Len Wallis Audio Team

Len Wallis Audio has been very fortunate in that we have been able to attract quality staff, most of who have then stayed with the company for many years. While it is impractical to list all staff members here, you will find short profiles on the majority of people you may come into contact with in our day to day business transactions.

 

Len Wallis

Director

Originally a country boy, Len has spent his working life in audio, starting as a salesman for MS Sound in 1970. Len opened Len Wallis Audio in 1978 as a one man show, and is still involved in the daily running of the company. Len's love of music is the reason for his involvement in the industry in the first place, and this has not diminished with time. A supporter of the Variety Club, Len has covered most of Australia having completed 9 'Bash's' in his trusty Valiant. Also a keen traveler and walker.

Trevor Rooney

General Manager

Trevor was born in Dublin and attended St. Andrews College for most of his academic life. A passing visit to Australia in 1994 turned into a permanent move. Having worked for Richer Sounds a career in electronics seemed to make sense and after joining Len Wallis Audio in early 1995 he has never looked back. Trevor's role as General Manager sees him involved in all facets of the industry. He has a passion for all things new, and enjoys movies, music, snow boarding and the simple things in life.

Dee Bubeck

Custom Division Manager

Dee has been at the top end of Custom Installation in both Australia and the UK since 2001. He has been involved in Sales and Project Management of numerous new build and large-scale refurbishment projects, including a number of large multi-dwelling schemes, from the design and cost planning stages right through to completion and client training.

Alberto Vangi

Custom Sales

Albie studied Metallurgical Engineering at UNSW, but his interest in Audio Visual soon became apparent. He started at LWA in 1998 as a retail salesperson but quickly became involved with custom projects. His goal became turning homes into feature homes creating the 'Wow' factor with A/V product - working with architects, designers and builders to achieve the most functional and enjoyable systems possible. Interests - Skiing, Tennis, making the perfect cup of coffee and German cars.

Brendan O'Banion

Sales

After some time at Borders, Brendan started here as storeman in November 2005. He mastered that area before moving on to sales, where the fast-pace and variety of challenges suits him. He has a keen interest in music, and has a studio set up at home. He has studied audio engineering at college and this year he co-produced and released an album with a good friend who goes by the name of Listic.

Charl Du Plessis

Sales

Charl has been with Len Wallis Audio since 1996, after commencing his career with the wholesale company Hi-Fi Specialists in South Africa in 1989. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and started part time with a retailer while at uni. In 2003 he started Plessis Audio, with product released in 2005 and the Model A valve amplifier winning the Sound & Image Best Amplifier award in 2006. Charl loves music, blues in particular, plays a Gibson Les Paul guitar and has also constructed a Warmoth Telecaster.

Craig Leydon

Lead Installer

Craig has worked at Len Wallis Audio as an installer since 1999. Previously an electrician in the construction industry, which he loved, he felt he needed a change and Len Wallis Audio was it. It was a perfect change, it was still a hands on electrical job, but required more technical knowledge. Apart from spending most weekends with his friends he also finds time for music production, and tinkers on electronic projects. He is currently working on a 3ft robot, which won't be finished anytime soon.

Christopher Ceci

System Designer/Draftsman

Born in New York City, raised in Texas, Christopher joined LWA as a senior installer in Sept. 2006. He started in A/V in 1992 working for a high-end retailer in New York City. He then took a video editing position for 4 years before returning to the A/V business as an installer/project manager for an A/V company in New York City. In 2000 he moved to Madrid where he taught English. 2003 saw him back in NYC in his previous role until he moved to Australia. Interests: Food, wine, travel and music.

Dennis Nel

Sales

Dennis has been with LWA since 1989, has a love for stereo, a keen interest in room acoustics and speaker placement, and still regards the humble turntable as the superior source. Other knowledge includes, cartridges, phono stages and associated playback devices as well as racking and storage systems. Interests include marathon running, (completed the Comrades), now sidelined by cycling. In 2009 he competes in the Grafton to Inverell road race, the World Masters in October, then the Australian Nationals.

Geoff Forgie

Journalist/Sales

Geoff has been with the company since 2000, and previous involvement in the industry goes back to 1988. He has always been interested in music and technology generally, but has a soft spot for vintage radios and hifi equipment from the analogue era. He still has a collection of LPs, but these are now shelved in the “theatre room/library”, formerly the garage! His other interests include landscape photography and his website www.homeentertainment.com.au

Josh Chircop

Programmer

Josh has a strong background in networking and IT (Apple and PC), and studied Electrical Engineering for 3 years. He started with LWA in 2007 as a junior installer, and has been programming since 2008 – mainly RTI, SpeakerCraft and Sonos. Josh has an interest in all Cinema and TV media, leading to a substantial DVD and Blu-ray collection. He likes to play with all new gadgets including Gaming Consoles and Media Streamers and has a great interest in electronic music production and DJ-ing.

Juan Leon

Custom Sales

Juan enjoys drawing, reading and music, and in his teen years he played folklore music in a band. After studying Pharmacy (incomplete) and Topography, he decided on an excursion to sales of musical instruments, and since then he has never stopped working in the sales industry. He started with Len Wallis Audio in 1995 as a salesman and then moved to our custom sales division. One of his projects was awarded “Installation of the Year- 2009” by Sound & Image magazine.

Kiet Lequang

Sales

Originally from Vietnam, Kiet has always been involved in the audio industries. His love of high fidelity sees him now part of the Len Wallis Audio team since 1985 Interest includes live concert, traveling and keeping fit.

Michael Dreyer

Project Manager

Michael Dreyer joined Len Wallis Audio in June 2003 in the position of storeman, from there moving to Junior Installer and then Senior Installer. In 2005 Michael moved to his current role as a Project Manager. Having no training in the Audio Visual area prior to 2003 all skills were learned on site, in store training & from extensive training courses from CEDIA and government bodies i.e Structured Cabling License & OH&S training.

Peter Greentree

Custom Sales

At school in Newcastle Peter designed & built loudspeakers, and later gained an advanced diploma in Industrial Design. Peter's first job was as an AV technician at a Sydney theme park, and then worked for himself contracting for production companies around Sydney. Peter joined the team at LWA in 2001, and currently looks after the more elaborate LWA installations and automation projects. He is also chairperson & treasurer of CEDIA. Peter's passions include enjoying live sound, the outdoors and good food.

Rob McCaffery

Maintenance Manager

With a communications background Rob started at LWA as an installer in 2002 and received the Rotary Pride of workmanship award in 2005. He moved into project management for a number of years and was the Custom Installation Manager for a few years, Rob has since taken on the new role as the Maintenance Manager. Rob's interests include; Golf, Fishing, Footy (NRL) and generally just getting away to the country or the coast, and I must not forget my two beautiful girls: my wife Bec & daughter Charli-Mia.

Rory Macleod

Project Manager

Rory Macleod joined Len Wallis Audio in September 2003 in the position of storeman, from there moving to Junior Installation, Senior Installation, Retail Sales and recently Project Management. Having no training in the Audio Visual area prior to 2003 all skills were learned on site or in extensive training courses from CEDIA or government bodies. “Generally found at home, at the gym, or at work”

Stephen Lenehan

Sales

Stephen is our 'newcomer' having started with Len Wallis Audio in late 2008. His interests include vinyl, SACD, DVD's, Folk/Pop music of the 60's and 70's, Pop and Dance music from the 80's and 90's, alternate Pop from the 00's and Female Jazz singers. Outside interests include Vintage Hi-Fi, current movies, travel and good coffee.

Tim Wallis

Sales

Tim has worked at Len Wallis Audio since 1998, he's moved through various departments and is passionate about 2 channel. Interests include motor sports and guitar.

Trevor Livingstone

Programmer

Trevor graduated with a BSc (Hons) Computer Science Degree including a Diploma in Professional Studies in the UK. After gaining this qualification he's been a professional software developer for 10 years. Trevor brings to the industry formal techniques and project management processes that ensure we always complete the most professional job we can. His main interests are drumming and music. Trevor joined Len Wallis Audio in March 2007.

Wim De Hertogh

Service Manager

After training as an electrician with the railways and doing an electronics course Wim entered the Hi-Fi Industry in 1982. He joined Len Wallis Audio in 1989. Wim worked as a sales consultant for the first 17 years and has filled the role of Service Manager for the last 3. Loves in his life are his three boys that are 22, 20 and 18. Hobbies were cycling and snow skiing. Now online gaming takes precedent. He has traveled extensively and has had a lot of adventures. Many stories can be told.
